Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program Description
Three Trimesters, One Cohort
The program is divided into three terms: Fall, Winter and Spring. Students will move together through the program as a class and, upon successfully completing the program, will be awarded a certificate. With permission, students may take one course at a time to complete the program at their own rate. A surcharge is added to the tuition under such circumstances. See Tuition and Fees
Three Workshops – One Per Term
In addition to the courses and group supervision experience, the program requires three workshops, one per term, that target specific clinical situations: The topics vary from year to year, but recently have included
- Introduction to Couples Therapy
- Working with a Trauma
- Working with Substance Abuse
- Psychotherapy and Spirituality
Each workshop is held on a Saturday, from 10am-1pm. The workshops are free to students who have enrolled in and paid for the entire program. Students who enroll in single courses will pay a modest fee to attend.
Individual Psychodynamic Therapy
Although individual psychodynamic therapy is not a requirement of this program, we strongly encourage students to begin (or continue) their own psychodynamic therapy to enrich their training experience.
