“TURN to TRCC”
The Theodor Reik Clinical Center
for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis
Who We Are
TRCC is the Theodor Reik Clinical Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. We are a long-established mental health treatment center, located in the heart of Manhattan’s Greenwich Village and serving New Yorkers from all over the city. In the past 70+ years, we’ve helped many thousands of people and we hold the trust and respect of the community. We offer both psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, depending on your needs and wishes. We’ll first meet with you to learn who you are and what your struggles and hopes are, and then we’ll choose one of our therapists who we believe will suit you well. TRCC was established with a commitment to providing therapy that people can afford, and we’re proud to have continued to do so to this day. Your fee will be based on your personal financial resources.

About Our Therapists
Our therapists are prepared to work with the many issues that may be facing people who seek therapy. They represent and are able to address the needs of people from different racial, ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds as well as from different sexual orientations and gender identities.
All of our therapists are candidates-in-training at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP), or have completed that training. The Training Institute of NPAP is a postgraduate educational body chartered under the Education Law of New York State by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. NPAP training is complex, rigorous and lengthy. It includes comprehensive course work in the theory and practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, extensive supervision of clinical work by senior clinicians, and the therapist’s own thorough personal psychoanalysis.
Our therapists all subscribe to the highest professional and ethical standards as established by NPAP. Your privacy and confidentiality will always be protected.

Step #2: You’ll meet with our Director of Intake who will want to learn what’s bringing you to seek therapy, as well as learning something about what’s been problematic for you in the course of your life, how you’ve coped and how any previous therapy you may have had was or wasn’t helpful to you.
Step #3: We’ll carefully select one of our therapists for you and will tell the therapist about you.
Step #4: You and your therapist then set up your first appointment.
That’s all there is to it!
