About The Edith Laufer Neuropsychoanalytic Clinical Study Center
Mission Statement
The Edith Laufter Neuropsychoanalytic Clinical Study Center of NPAP is the first treatment center in the City of New York to provide psychodynamic psychotherapy to patients with brain injuries. Our licensed clinicians specialize in helping patients to reestablish a sense of self, to come to terms with their losses, to enhance inner strengths, and to have realistic hope for themselves and their families.
Our History
The Edith Laufer Neuropsychoanalytic Clinical Study Center was formed in 2003 as part of the Continuing Education Program of the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP). In 2008 the program adopted the designation of “Center” and became a separate entity within the structure of NPAP.
