Sexual fantasies and behaviors offer a unique window into the unconscious, revealing deep-seated fears, desires, and conflicts. This session equips clinicians with the tools to understand and navigate these topics, fostering more open and productive discussions about sexuality in the therapeutic setting. Through practical examples and theoretical exploration, these insights will be integrated into clinical practice.

Learning Objectives: After attending this presentation, participants will be able to
– Identify and interpret the unconscious meanings behind patients’ sexual activities, sexual fantasies, pornography consumption, and masturbation habits.
– Identify and interpret the negative emotions converted into pleasure through sexual fantasies and behaviors.
– Describe the importance of using precise language and clarifying terms when discussing sex and sexuality with patients and develop comfort and facility in using such precise language.
